The Happiness Project
The mission:
You Grow, Girl is known for cultivating a woman’s mind, body, and spirit. Bible studies, events, and outreaches make sure that happens. I have been praying a lot recent about reaching out to others and making a real difference in the lives of women who cannot participate in You Grow, Girl physically or virtually. That brings us to The Happiness Project. Proverbs 3:27 says, “to not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.”
Our Next Happiness Project Recipient

Meet Sylvia Tigogo . She works in the laundry room at the Sirikwa Hotel in Eldoret, Kenya. She, along with most of the staff, has not been paid since January because of financial difficulties at the hotel. Sylvia is a widow whose husband, Daniel, contracted meningitis last year. Shortly after contracting the disease, pneumonia set in and he died 4 days later. Sylvia has two sons: Vincent, age 11, and Granton, age 4.
How do we know all of this? Rachel Gallagher of Open Arms International, based in Portland, Oregon, is in Kenya and she gave us her first hand account of this need. Open Arms has agreed to partner with You Grow, Girl for our next Happiness Project recipient. She will personally give our funds to Sylvia, make a difference in her life, and send us photos and updates.
The goal: $250 for Sylvia, a widow, mother, and sister in the Lord. All donations are tax deductible. Come on ladies, can you join me? Please put “The Happiness Project” in the comments section. As always, you can check the updates at http://www.yougrowgirl.org/happiness.html.

We will post the collection results on our website (www.yougrowgirl.org) and Open Arms International will notify each donor. We will also see the impact of our donations, through pictures, compassion, and written correspondence.
